Beautiful Sophia and family

The sun is shining, the Canadian Men's Hockey Team is minutes away from winning Gold at the Sochi Olympics and I'm just about to start my photo shoot with the scrumptious 4 month old Sophia.  I fell in love with Sophia the moment her mum turned her to look at me and she started to smile....my heart melted and I knew it was love at first sight.  

Absolutely everything about this shoot was perfect...perfect baby, perfect parents, perfect natural light flowing in the kitchen window and a photo shoot that went perfectly (so much perfect in one sentence).

Even though she was starting her teething, which caused her to either put every blanket in her mouth or to be super adorable and play peek-a-boo, she was a trooper and smiled the whole time.

Thanks Laura and Paul for bring such a delightful bundle of joy into the world and into my portfolio.

Yeah, I did my first newborn shoot and it went off without a hitch!!!

Thanks to Caroline and Russell I was able to do my first newborn shoot.  It was great with tons of lessons learned for future shoots.  Caroline and Russell have such a beautiful family and they were so laid back it was a relaxed time for all....well except their gorgeous toddler, Isabelle, who was a total little firecracker and loved being in front of the camera (although her parents said she was forever running away from the camera....not today she wasn't LOL).  After many fun shots with Isabelle, it was finally time for two week old Abby to make her appearance and she was worth the wait.  You'd think at two weeks old she would settle down and sleep but not this little beauty...she was awake through it all so we got some awake and what looked like asleep pics.   I plan on following these two precious sisters as they grow and getting the "birthday cake smash" pics of Abby when she turns 1 (I should probably let her parents know my plan LOL).

Can't forget a shout out to Tanya for hooking me up with Caroline, Russell and the girls.  Your family are next Tanya so get ready :)

First Maternity Shoot

Well, I finally had the opportunity to do my first maternity shoot and I'm pleased to say it was a success.  It was terrifying, exhilarating and over all awesome at the same time.  Many many thanks to Christine Kolynko for being my willing model.  I was super excited to have Christine wear the beautiful dress I bought from Taopan - Ana Brandt (exceptionally talented photographer and over all amazing woman).  My vision is to have all mum's-to-be feel like a princess for a few moments in their pregnancy - they deserve a few moments of pampering and glamour don't you think?  Can't wait for Christine's beautiful new baby to arrive so I can get my first newborn shoot under my belt too. 2014 is starting out amazingly in the photography world :>)
