Ice Storm December 2013

This Christmas sure turned out to be quite a surprise for all of us.  Who would have expected so much of the City would be without power for days, some even without it on Christmas Day?  We were lucky enough to be in one of the pockets in the City where there was still power, which was a blessing for sure. I'm happy everyone survived the storm with minimal damage to their property and without too much disruption to their Christmas....hopefully we were all able to make the best of it with family and friends.  Here's to a great, warm New Year to everyone....may 2014 bring us all much love, happiness and good health.

Here's a few pics of the ice storm...I chose to post only what I thought were some pictures showing the beauty that mother nature can throw at us instead of all the damage that was caused...who wants to remember the bad stuff - I know I don't.

Thanksgiving Day

It's Thanksgiving Day, turkey bird is in the oven and it's time for a little drive out of the city to see the fall colours.  Who would have thought that we would find these gorgeous colours, a cute little cow and some evil cows (they kinda scared me but not half as much as the nasty bull that was rounding them up).  What surprised us the most was the field with some Lhama's hanging out.  The beautiful yet surprising sights you see on the outskirts of Toronto.

Lovin' my new Facebook page timeline.  Can't wait to get the page up and running.

Faded Label's First Gig

On September 29, 2013, I was lucky enough to photograph Faded Label's first gig.  These may be a group of boys aged 15 - 17 or so but you would never believe it from the talent they have.  They played five songs, four covers and one original.  I have to admit, the original was my favourite which really is a big deal if you are a bunch of kids starting out.  Thanks to Shelley and David Jameson for giving me the pleasure of being the photographer for the night.  Can't wait till the next gig boys !!!

A little photoshop fun.

Taking pictures is something I love and I particularly love old barns, buildings and anything with a great texture.  A little drive about 20 minutes north of the city and we found these gems.  The barn and chicken coop were a boring grey but after a little photoshop the colour pops.  The yellow barn was actually yellow and green, which is what caught my attention.  The wonders of photoshop just enhanced the original colours slightly.  The train tracks ended up just looking cool.  I can't wait to learn and practice some more with photoshop.

The lovely Selvaggi ladies.

I was thrilled when Nancy asked if I would take some pictures of her two beautiful daughters, Serena and Amanda.  These girls are not only beautiful on the outside but also on the inside, just like their mother.  It was so much fun and such an honour to be able to have pictures of all three lovely ladies to add to my collection.  We will have to do this again girls :)
